Laughter!

Laughter is the shortest distance between two people. ~Victor Borge

On a recent visit to Colorado, Grandpa Joe and Miss K share a laugh...and his one and only chance to see his little  Princess in her   Sooners cheerleader dress! (It was snowing... or her Dad would have only let her wear it outside!)   He's taking this"not so winning season" in  stride..takes a lot of teasing about it...but  will NEVER give up hope for his Sooners.  More lessons for our grandkids from Grandpa Joe...stand by what you believe in...through thick and thin.  And know that he'll be doing that for all of you...all your lives!  We're anxious to see all of you we can over the Thanksgiving holiday.....the turkeys thawing in the fridge as I type!

Meet Miss K M !

We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life.
But those who make their journey home across time & miles,
growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them,
are carried on the wings of destiny
and placed among us by God's very own hands.
Kristi Larson

You have SO many waiting to love you..
welcome to the family, little K
we're so lucky to belong to you!

Welcome, little girl!

Sticking our necks out to say......
Welcome, little one.
We've been waiting for you!
By mid September, Susan and Chad will meet their daughter for the first time. About a week later, they'll bring her home. Little does she know just how much love waits for her here! Welcome to the family, little K! We can't wait to meet you!!!!

Seeing the wind...

It's usually true that you can't see the wind....unless it touches something! Well...it touched plenty this time! It proved to us that unbendable steel does, indeed bend! Lately, the music outside our window sounds like a chain saw! Thanks to all who came to help....it's starting to look like the summer paradise it used to!

Summers end....

Enjoy yourself.
These are the good old days
you're going to miss in the years ahead.
~ Author Unknown ~
These were the last days of summer....truck rides, hauling tree branches, mini golfing, baseball, playing with Gus, donut mornings and zoo afternoons. I am going to miss these slow summer days so much....they grow up way too fast. Have a good school year, kids! Grandma and Grandpa love you!

Summer Days...

While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.
Angela Schwindt
There's nothing like a summer day filled with grandchildren to remind you of what life is all about...giggles and golfing and pizza and lazer quest....topped with Gatorade and a phone call to tell us our little band of travelers will soon be joined by the sweetest little girl! I'll not soon forget the sounds of five little voices chanting "Grandma...Grandma...Grandma" as I whacked that crazy golf ball into the hole to win them a free game of golf.....the sight of five little faces with traces of pizza sauce and pop on the corners of their mouths....the groan of five little souls as I asked them to pose for just one more picture....and the peels of laughter as they raced each other up and down the gym at Grandpa's work! Thanks, kids....for reminding Grandma..and Grandpa...of what matters most!

Advice From Gus....

The best way to get a puppy is to beg for a baby brother
and they'll settle for a puppy every time.
Winston Pendelton
Dear kids...
play hard, do well in school, come visit...
and bring treats!
Love, Gus
